Our Students
The Governor's School at the University of Richmond enrolls students from across the Commonwealth who excel in the Humanities and Visual & Performing Arts. Students complete a rigorous application provided by the State Department of Education. Those applications—along with recommendations, essays from humanities students, and adjudication results for visual and performing arts students—are scored, tabulated, and examined by the State. Students with the highest scores in each area or discipline are invited to participate in the program. All decisions are made at the state level with recommendations from the site director; no students are admitted by personnel at Christopher Newport University.
