Academics
The Governor's School at Christopher Newport University
provides challenging course work that reinforces the importance
of each individual discipline within the Humanities and Visual &
Performing Arts. The course work also emphasizes the vital bond
between the Humanities and Visual & Performing Arts. Each school
provides its own courses as well as joining together to provide
interdisciplinary course work. Cross-disciplinary and even exotic
course work emerges from over one hundred workshops and recreations
offered to students during Explorations throughout the summer. All
students receive an opportunity to share their individual and collective
course work with the other members of the Governor's School community
of learners.
